Job Description
JOB PURPOSE
To provide research and economic impact analysis through analysing economic variables (e.g. GDP, production costs, consumer consumption, LC at Macroeconomic level, etc.) and prepare the needed reports and presentations in an accurate and timely manner to support the decision-making of LCGPA’s management.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Data Collation
§ Research, analyze, interpret, and prepare data for economic analysis through identifying data requirements to ensure collecting the right data for the analysis and assess Data Management Department in getting the needed data if required.
§ Facilitate the collation, aggregation and compilation of macro-economic data, in coordination with Data Management teams, to ensure that impact data is correct, up-to-date and easily accessible.
Economic Analysis
§ Conduct analysis of economic models and simulations of Local Content on macroeconomic variables such as GDP, unemployment rate, consumer consumption, and import and exports to study and monitor the impact of Local Content and Government Procurement.
§ Conduct economic studies and economic modeling analysis related to lC developments and opportunities
§ Reviewing and updating the mechanisms for measuring local content at different levels, including evaluating indicators for measuring local content.
§ Develop economic forecasts utilizing the right techniques (e.g. econometric technique) to ensure preparing accurate forecasts that supports the decision-making process.
§ Participation in building and updating LC baseline and set LC scores across non-oil economic activities
Economic Impact assessment
§ Work with data collation to build database to monitor relevant sector and macro-economic variables through maintaining, research papers, records and reports related to the LCGPA’s economic impact.
§ Work on economic models by forecasting LC indicators, building scenarios, and updating economic indicators.
§ Estimate the impact of LC policies on the economy at a macro-level and monitor the effect of LC requirements on government procurement and the economy, or any government procurement policy to stay abreast of new findings and highlight significant results.
Economic Impact Presentation
§ Prepare and present impact materials, reports, presentations for consideration by LCGPA’s Senior Management and Board of Directors, as well as external advisors as needed detailing results of performed research.
Policies, Systems, Processes, Procedures, Standards and Reports
§ Follow all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
§ Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate reports and functional deliverables to meet the requirements of the Economic Research Department in order to achieve the desired efficiency and performance excellence.
