JOB PURPOSE |
To develop strategic plans for LCGPA through contributing to the development of LCGPA strategy, strategic planning framework, models, templates and maintaining updated strategy dashboards and scorecards in order to achieve the strategy of LCGPA. |
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES |
DESCRIPTION |
People Management § Supervise the teamwork of the Strategic Planning division and follow-up on the evaluation of their performance by providing feedback on an ongoing basis and seek opportunities to develop their capabilities in order to motivate them and raise the level of performance of the work of the department. § Identify the training and development needs of the Strategic Planning division employees and fill the knowledge gaps to ensure continuous development and a high level of competence within the team. |
Strategic Planning and Development § Contribute to the development of LCGPA’s strategy by providing recommendations on changes to the strategy to ensure that the strategy is in line with the authority’s vision and mission. § Create and maintain all strategic planning frameworks, models, templates, reports etc. in order to promote, facilitate and standardize the communication of strategy to the business. § Develop and embed an integrated approach to planning at all levels within LCGPA, including devising, maintaining, implementing and monitoring the strategic planning cycle. § Develop and manage the strategic planning process, supporting planning with the necessary internal and external analyses required. § Maintain and update strategy dashboards and scorecards in order to measure progress and effectiveness. § Translate the strategy into a strategy map and balanced scorecard including strategic themes, objectives, measures, targets and initiatives in order to facilitate and ascertain its accurate communication. § Cascade developed strategic plans and business plans to the appropriate departments at LCGPA; monitor the capital budget administration forecast, obtain and document feedback from department heads accordingly. |
Communication and Collaboration § Collaborate with departments across LCGPA to define their objectives and business plans/budgets to ensure the cascading from the overall strategy. § Follow-up on running LCGPA projects to ensure that all projects are aligned with the LCGPA’s policies, regulations and strategy. § Provide sessions to key stakeholders on LCGPA on key strategic topics to ensure that LCGPA’s strategy is well communicated and understood. § Obtain feedback from Department VPs and other concerned parties on proposed plans; assess their validity and applicability and perform needed revisions accordingly. |
Risk Management § Identify any potential risks and threats to LCGPA’s strategy and business objectives to ensure that all risks and threats are eliminated in a timely manner. § Conduct strategic analysis, identify scenarios and formulate recommendations on the basis of the provided inputs of Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats. |
Policies, Systems, Processes, Procedures, Standards and Reports § Conduct a thorough review and analysis reports submitted by subordinates and make timely decisions to ensure enhancing the Strategic Planning division performance, mitigating highlighted risks and achieving LCGPA’s objectives. |
