Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

Tosupport the process of receive, process, store, and issue items from the warehouse and to keep accurate records and provide inventory reports.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

DESCRIPTION

Inventory Management 

§   Support the process of receive, identify and process (pick, unload, label, store) warehouse items.

§   Unpack, arrange and maintain inventories of all items (e.g. office furniture, office supplies, stationary, etc.) in the appropriate storage locations in the warehouse.

§   Count incoming and outgoing items to ensure accurate inventory reporting.

§   Examine and inspect items in stock for wear and tear or defects and reject items that do not meet specifications.

§   Maintain inventory controls by collecting item orders, printing requests, and recording quantities of items received or distributed.

§   Regularly check inventory levels and initiate or recommend initiation of reorder. 

§   Implement an inventory shortage alarm system for when stocks fall below 20% of the desired quantities (on blanket orders).  

Warehouse Management 

§   Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping workspace and shelves clean and organized.

§   Safely operate equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.) as needed for warehouse management.

Record Keeping   

§   Ensure adequate record keeping and manage all documentation to confirm proper stock levels and to maintain inventory controls.

§   Maintain daily logs and necessary inspection reports. 

§   Conduct yearly stock inventory exercise for the warehouse; report any stock discrepancies or shortages to the concerned department.

Policies, Systems, Processes, Procedures, Standards and Reports

§   Follow all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner. 

§   Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate reports and functional deliverables to meet the functional requirements in order to achieve the desired efficiency and performance excellence.
